Texas Impairment Rating Payout Calculator
Enter your details below to estimate your Impairment Income Benefits (IIBs).
To ensure accuracy for Texas claims, the following rules are programmed into the tool:
Average Weekly Wage (AWW): This is usually based on the 13 weeks of pay immediately preceding your injury.
Impairment Income Benefits (IIBs) Rate: Your weekly rate is 70% of your AWW.
State Maximums: For the 2026 fiscal year (starting October 1, 2025), the maximum weekly IIB is $890.00. Even if you earn a high salary, your benefit cannot exceed this cap.
Payment Duration: Texas law provides 3 weeks of payments for every 1% of your impairment rating. For example, a 10% rating equals 30 weeks of checks.
Eligibility: These benefits typically begin the day after you reach Maximum Medical Improvement (MMI), which is the point where a doctor determines your condition will not significantly improve with further treatment.
